A Post I Wrote to Sort Out My Thoughts
I wrote this thinking it might help at least one person out there. These are some thoughts that have been rolling around in my head lately.
Work and money
▸ If you have nothing to do, it’s better to at least make some money.
A part-time job is fine too. I think the right move is to look for what you want to do while earning money. You gain real-world experience, and as your social skills improve, I think more good opportunities come your way.
▸ Doing what you want takes some sacrifice.
Like having to earn money, and so on. And sometimes, once you actually start doing what you wanted, you stop wanting to do it. That’s why I think the safest way is to keep your main job while you do it. What if you try to keep your main job and do what you want, but you just don’t have the room? Then give up one of the two. Or move to a job that gives you more room.
People
▸ Start by getting along with the people closest to you.
Family, a partner, best friends, relatives, coworkers. Everyone’s priorities can be different.
▸ Being positive gets you more than halfway with people.
When you’re negative, it feels like people keep their distance. First impressions matter, so I’m still practicing my facial expressions too.

Doing and living
▸ Just thinking is really not great.
Write it down, or act on it. Whenever possible, it’s better to do what you thought of right away.

▸ Start rough and finish fast.
Then upgrade it bit by bit.
▸ Take about one day a week for something fun.
Movies, Netflix, visiting a neighborhood you’ve never been to, that kind of thing. Without new stimulation, I run low on dopamine and it gets hard.

That’s it for now. I’ll write more when something else comes to mind.
